Each Friday we work hard to bring together the hottest topics in the world of PR, media, marketing and pop culture. Different members of the agency contribute links to their favorite articles and blog posts from around the web to create a list of must-see topics. This week’s topics were contributed by President Stephanie Smirnov and myself. Here are a few things that are on our radar this week.
One of the most talked about topics in the digital space is blogger partnerships. Brands and Marketers are continually trying to find the most effective ways to connect with and engage bloggers. This week Deidre Breakenridge discussed the idea of approaching blogger outreach from a truly grass roots approach. Breakenridge details her success in a recent blogger outreach program that relied heavily on networking and forging relationship with bloggers.
Fashion bloggers have been on the scene for quite a while scoring multi-million dollar contracts with clothing companies, sitting front row at fashion shows, and sharing the latest trends and tips with their readers. Tumblr has taken notice to the power of fashion bloggers in their community and in turn will be sponsoring twenty bloggers to NY Fashion week. For the past couple of years fashions bloggers have been congregating together for an annual conference surrounding the topic of fashion blogging hosted by the Independent Fashion Bloggers Group. This year the bloggers will be coming together on February 10th to discuss a wide range of topics dealing with fashion blogging and talking with some of the biggest influencers in the space.
A couple of weeks ago Senior Account Executive Amy Schoenberger walked us through what it is like to work on cause related marketing campaigns. This week Ad Age released a great article about how to cut through the clutter with your cause marketing campaign.
As more and more social networks are rolling out each week we are starting to see many more areas for brands to engage with their consumers. Aside from branded Facebook pages and Twitter accounts, brands are finding new outlets to share their message. This week Tech Crunch released an article outlining the many brands that are beginning to flock to a new photo sharing service Instagram. Tech Crunch makes it very clear that these are not paid partnerships but rather a brands attempt to share new and creative content on a recently popular platform.
